In October 2007 I left the house to register my Mitsubishi Eclipse, but stopped at the Jeep Dealership to see what they had to offer. Cleary, from the pictures above, I never made it to register my car, but rather came home with a new Jeep. I love it. It is a 2007 Wrangler Sahara. It has all sorts of cool features, but the one I like the most is the 4 Wheel Drive. I also love that in the summer I get to take the top and doors off and feel the wind in my face as I drive. Nothing is better than feeling the wind.
After a wheeling trip with the Utah 4 Wheel Drive Association in August 2008, John realized why I wanted to get a lift and all the snazzy things for my jeep. He decided he wanted me to keep my 07 Jeep the way it was and buy another Jeep. So in mid August, John surprised me with this decked out Jeep. It is a 2001 Jeep Wrangler Sahara with a TeraFlex 4" Long-Arm lift, 1" Body Lift, 9000 lb Winch, CB Radio, 35" Tires and some other cool stuff. I have not had it out on a trail yet, but plan on getting it to Moab Jeep Safari in April 2009 and trying it out.
2007 Jeep - August Adventure
On August 3, 2008 John and I joined the Utah 4 Wheel Drive Association for a trip out to 5 Mile Pass to tackle the Rattlesnake Trail. When we arrived all the other Jeeps started to air down their tires and some had to unload their vehicles from their tow trailers. I started to cry. John asked why I was crying, to which I responded, I have a wimpy Jeep and mine is stupid. You see, I had the only stock Jeep on the trail and felt a little inferior. John was very supportive and told me that I would eventually get to have a built up Jeep and I would be able to make it no problem over everything the other Jeeps were going to do.
Here are some pics of the days adventures, and John was right. I did everything the lifted Jeeps did and sometimes did it better. One Rubicon, lifted and puffed up bottomed out when we went up the waterfall, but I did not. John was incredibly impressed at the skills I had for four-wheeling and continued to cheer me on. It was a fun day and John learned why I loved doing this so much.
The white jeep is the one that bottomed out later in the trail and was critical of me and the ability of my totally stock Jeep. Haa!! Wait till he sees my 01 TJ and how puffed up it is.
Here is part of the trail that was pretty easy just after coming up a steep narrow rock. I almost rolled backwards into the Jeep behind me. I am looking forward to the 01 Jeep and the fact it has a thumb throttle and I won't have to do gas, clutch, break all at the same time. Won't that be cool
